Ode to Joy

She was cute as a flower
And dangerous like love
Nobody never owned her
Not even herself

Between a loving life
Full of certainty
Or the chaos of
Loneliness
She always seeked
The independent silence
The only drop of the rain
To fall out of the pond

Walked the road
Like she own it
Because she did
Or that’s what she felt
And what’s more important?
Knowing the truth
Even if you don’t accept it
Or just making it up

She had a fine mind
Enough to talk alone
And that’s everything
She ever needed

To be honest,
I really don’t know her
It was just a glance
A pickpocketing one
The way she looked
How she didn’t
The life we spend together
Never felt like one
The bench where we seated
To be alone together
Seems much more lonely now
While I’m remembering it

And thats all she ever was
Just a flipping coin
Where both sides
Told everybody to fuck off

I remember her fondly
Even if she don’t know me
Or who I am,
Or who I was, at all
But she was cute as a flower
And dangerous like love
Nobody never owned her
Not even herself
